A limited number of memberships are available…
Our intentionally small membership, whilst sharing a belief that Blackwell deserves inclusion if a list of the golfing “gems” in the British Isles existed, would not push it to be included as fame can have it’s price.
The club prides itself on always extending a warm welcome to visitors, it would not wish to be overrun by them. Our members know how lucky they are and are content to leave it at that.
Blackwell Golf Club is a traditional club that provides a welcome escape from the playing pressures often associated with many other clubs. The values of the game are respected. Golf is played in a friendly and competitive spirit throughout the year in a relaxed and uncrowded environment around a classic Herbert Fowler and Tom Simpson designed parkland course.
Tee times are not booked in advance and foursomes golf is very popular, with many matches arranged in the celebrated stud bar on the morning of play. Two ball is the normal format on competition days to ensure quick play. Fourball golf may be played on other occasions as the pace of the course allows.
Blackwell is a long-established club seeking to preserve the traditions, standards and character of golf at its best, both on and off the course. Our hallmarks are friendliness and quality at all times and “No-one is left in the bar”
In order to ensure that prospective members can obtain a good understanding of Blackwell, applicants may first be invited to play a round with two senior members of the club and thereafter may be invited to meet with the Membership Committee before their application is considered further.
If you feel that Blackwell’s traditional, quality-driven approach both on and off the course may suit you, further information on becoming a member can be requested by completing the membership application form.
